SOUTH EASTERN REGIONAL FLY IN (SERFI)

 

 

The South East Regional Fly In, Inc. fully supports the Americans with Disabilities Act and is committed to complying with all its applicable provisions. Consistent with this policy, SERFI provides reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals who make their situation known to SERFI personnel Reasonable accommodations are those that do not create an undue hardship on SERFI, change the nature of scheduled events or activities, or pose a safety or health threat to other SERFI attendees. See: 42 U.S.C. 12182(b)(2)(A).

As part of its offerings to handicapped attendees, SERFI provides dedicated auto, aircraft, and campsite parking and handicap restrooms. Detailed information on these offerings can be made by contacting SERFI [Phone: (850) 862-0652 or e-mail: aimhigh@bsc.net.

Handicapped individuals who desire to use personal, powered vehicles at the Fly-In are urged to contact SERFI in advance. It is SERFI's policy that these vehicles be specifically designed for handicap use and exhibit the stability required to operate around aircraft. For safety concerns, only officially approved vehicles are permitted to operate within aircraft parking areas and taxiways. Upon inspection, vehicles that meet safety requirements will be issued an Official SERFI Vehicle sticker at no charge. Finally, SERFI does not have a designated handicapped vehicle supplier in the local area. As a result, affected individuals are encouraged to contact their own supplier prior to arriving at the airport.

Animals used for handicap aid are authorized in all areas of the airfield.

Upon arrival and after clearing the runway, it is requested that handicap requirements be transmitted to aircraft marshals on ground frequency. If non-radio equipped, an easily discernable sign should be displayed.
